8/2/2008 - Call Back
Call back for positions, stalling, and RV Hook-up information will be on August 6th from 12pm-3pm. As well, this information will be posted on the Internet as soon as possible. Phone Julie at (403) 728-3127 or consult www.albertabarrelracing.com.
8/2/2008 - Time Only's
Time Onlys will be held on Tuesday, August 19th. Time onlys may be booked in advance on Thursday, August 7th from 10:00am – 2:00pm by phoning (780) 376-3504, or (780) 376-2338. These phone numbers will be in use for this time and date only. If you get a school answering machine message please try again. If any time slots remain after the August 7th phone entries, these will be sold at the arena on August 19th. Only one entry allowed per horse. If a contestant is caught running the same horse for more than one time only a fine will be applied. The cost will be $5 for one full minute of time in the arena. A warning whistle will sound at 45 seconds. If a rider misses her time slot, no extra time will be given. Timer will not be set up during this time. Payment can be made at the booth set-up in the arena to collect the fee. Riders will not be allowed to take their time only until it has been paid for.
5/21/2008 - Finals Parking and Info
VERY IMPORTANT!!
Riding area
ABSOLUTELY NO RIDING ON THE GRASS. The outdoor arena is available to warm up in and there will be a large area behind the Casino to ride in. The ABRA is liable for any grass damage so violators will be fined.
RV Campground at the CRE
Unfortunately the RV Campground at the CRE will not be finished in time for our event due to all the rain they have been getting. You will still be able to camp as usual but there will be no hook-ups available except for the 20 electrical stalls by the barns.
Self-Penning at the finals information:
DUE TO THE PARKING SPACE WE WILL NOT BE PRE-ASSIGING STALLS. WE ARE ASKING THAT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PARK TOGETHER TO PLEASE COME TOGETHER. THE AREA IS VERY TIGHT AND IF WE HAD PRE-ASSIGNED STALLS IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT FOR UNITS TO GET PARKED. WE ARE SORRY FOR HAVING TO CHANGE THIS. YOU WILL BE PARKED IN THE ORDER YOU ARRIVE SO MAKE SURE YOUR FRIENDS ARE WITH YOU!!
We will be setting up the self penning to the west of the arena on the sand (same as last year), to the south of the arena on the new grass area (beside the small outdoor sand ring) and to the East of the main paved parking lot by the CRE Office. All self-penning will be pre-assigned. You will be aloted enough room for one truck and trailer OR Camper/Motorhome and a 10 x 10 area per horse. If you wish to be parked beside a friend please state this with your entries. All parking will be pre-assigned with numbers and you will only be allowed to use this area. In the Grass lot the vehicles will be parked on the grass and the horses stabled on the road area (NOT on the grass).
NO CAMPSITE FIRES ARE ALLOWED!
ARRIVAL TIME
Contestants nor contestants vehicles will not be permitted on the CRE grounds until 4pm, Monday, August 18, 2008 unless you are part of the ABRA Finals set up committee.
ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS ALLOWED IN THE ARENA! (this will be strongly enforced)
QUADS
If you wish to bring a quad to the CRE grounds it must be approved by the ABRA. No one under the age of 16 will be permitted to drive the vehicle. If an underaged driver is caught or the vehicle is being driven wrecklessly or in the way of the competition, the vehicle will be confiscated until the end of the event.
