elcome to Bar IJ Foundation Quarter Horses. We have been involved with horses most of our lives and have been breeding Quarter Horses for 15 years before deciding to specialize in raising foundation bred Quarter Horses.

The foundation Quarter Horse promotes the qualities of the "old-style" working ranch horse; natural cow-sense, a tractable disposition, and the good bone, muscles and feet to be able to stand up to their duties for many years. They are also versatile and adaptable. A foundation Quarter Horse has the ability to rein, cut a cow, and go for a pleasure ride.

Our objective is to raise horses with the ability and disposition needed for the all-round working and riding horse, with colour as a bonus.

We are located 1/2 east of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta or 45 minutes west of Red Deer. Visitors are always welcome, so stop by for a coffee if you are in the area and we will be happy to show you our horses.
