A comment from one of our new website clients

Tammy worked with our designers to produce a nice clean look and we developed the site so every page is updatable by Tammy. She puts in all the photos and information and changes it whenever she likes.  Without learning any code or buying any programs. Fun & easy.

P.S. My website looks awesome! I’m very pleased with it – it’s more than I expected it would be!

Sincerely,
Tammy Badry

The sale was held in Brandon, MB at the Keystone Center’s new equine facility.  The sale featured auctioneer Don Peacock and pedigrees by Glen Gabel. The sale was very well attended with an oustanding group of horses to be sold.

The top selling horse, consigned by Lee & Tracy Pedersen of Milestone, SK, named PQH Rainbow.  A 1999 AQHA bay gelding; seasoned ranch horse, a solid heading horse and quiet for anyone in the family to ride.  Continue Reading »

The Farm Sale

This weekend we had a farm auction to sell all the stuff our parents had accumulated over their lifetimes. Some of you horse people may have known my Mom, E.J. (Betty) McKenzie. She raised a few horses every year since coming to the farm – she stood a son of Doc’s Jack Frost for years. Mom passed away last year during the big storm at the age of 80 years. Dad only made 48 years but the acreage they had acquired with their hard work provided mom with the funds she needed to buy a farm – her lifelong dream. Continue Reading »

Trick Horses

Am getting some response on the request for trick equines. I might set up a little site for all the “trick ponies” if any of you are interested.

Lynn and Echo

When I was a kid I had a horse that I taught to rear and bow. She would actually walk on her hind legs. I was so proud of her. The above image is a scan of an old slide that is of her and I. Continue Reading »

Wild Foal Stranded on Gravel Shoal

Stranded Foal

The three-week-old foal struggled hard against the current to keep up abreast his mom and family herd that were making the perilous journey across the Red Deer River. The water was running high and icy-cold the rapids merciless battered against the tiny horse. The foal being too young and weak was unable to keep swimming against the onslaught of the white water and drifted away from his herd and down steam. Somehow he managed to climb out of the river onto dry land, but his herd was no longer in sight. The foal whinnied for his mare but could hear nothing but the roar of the river. Exhausted the young horse laid down on his rock covered island and went to sleep. Continue Reading »

If You Are Moving to Alberta – humour

Received this from a client tonite. Some of this is remarkably good advice.

Regarding the 12 NEW rules for entering Alberta:

  1. Bring your own house.
  2. If going to the Oil Sands, bring your own house, school and hospital.
  3. If going to Edmonton, wear your flak jacket. This is the murder capital of Canada. Continue Reading »

Need a nurse mare?

I received an email from Ed Lesko from Living Water Paints & QH from near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan that he lost a newborn foal on May 28. He thinks the mare is a good candidate for adopting a foal and he would be pleased to help someone if they needed a nursemare.
