NRCHA World Champion a Clinician at the Chilliwack Mane Event

The Mane Event, Equine Education and Trade Fair is pleased to announce that Richard Winters from the prestigious Thacher School in Ojai, CA will be joining the line-up of clinicians at the October 19 – 21 Expo.

Richard is currently an active and successful competitor in the National Reined Cow Horse Association as well as an A rated judge. He was the Limited Open Hackamore Champion at the prestigious World Championship Snaffle Bit Futurity in 2005 and also received the World Championship Title, in the Limited Open Hackamore Class, at the NRCHA Bayer Legend Celebration of Champions at the World show in February, 2006 in Texas.

Richard’s outstanding horsemanship skills were showcased in his most recent accomplishment, winning the 2007 $10,000. Colt Starting Championship at the Equine Experience in Paso Robles, California.

For nearly three decades Richard has dedicated himself to honing his horsemanship skills and to passing this knowledge onto others. His vast experience includes starting literally hundreds of horses that have gone onto almost every equine discipline imaginable. Richard is a performance horse trainer with a natural horsemanship touch. From reined cow horses to jumping and dressage, Richard’s horsemanship is universal.

Richard considers himself a product of many great horsemen that he has had the privilege to ride with. From the weekend trail rider to the competitive world of three day eventing and reined cow horses, Richard makes it possible for people to realize their horsemanship dreams. Much of Richard’s work has been accomplished through the numerous clinics he conducts around the country. He also enjoys being a guest presenter at various Horse Expos. A love for horses, knowledge developed through years of practice and study, and a willingness to continue learning, are the components that make Richard the “Masterful Equine Communicator” that he is today.

Richard is a contributing writer for the Horseman’s News and the Cascade Horseman Magazine. He has also produced a Horsemanship DVDs series and a DVD with Ted Robinson, NRCHA World Champion.
