Horse Haulers

istock_000004009711xsmall.jpgPerhaps the reason there are no horse haulers using the Northernhorse.com Classifieds is that they are all so busy they just don’t think they can take on any more work. It can’t be the $30/with a photo that the ad would cost to run for 3 months, renewable at 1/2 price after that. I suppose that explains why no haulers have their website linked on the front of Northernhorse.com either.

Too bad, because we are getting quite a few people emailing & calling us asking about horse haulers and we don’t have a single outfit to recommend for them. There are a lot of horses selling. If you are a horse hauler who is looking for more business you might want to give either our classifieds or a link on Northernhorse.com a try.

Results of Painted Coffin & E&B Acres Sale

Barb Sisson sent us the following results of their sale.

comet.jpg
The sale went good, the highest selling baby was a Black and White filly (Comet) who sold for $1350.00

The sale average was $700.00

One was sold for a show filly, all comments we had were very positive. We have people from all. We are very happy, and would be very happy to hear from the poeple who purchased that we don’t know. Our goal is to raise good quality Black & White foals for all to take to whatever event they choose.

Doug’s Weaning (2)

Well, when Doug still wasn’t much calmer yesterday morning and he was still beating up on anybody his size, I decided that Danny, the kid’s pony would make a good roommate. Danny was living with Doug and his mom in the pasture so they do know each other. Doug’s mom had helped Doug put the run on Danny whenever he wanted but I thought things might be different with mom not being there. And I was right. It did help a lot. Danny really likes his feed and after Doug made a couple of trips through the hay pile, Danny started greeting him with pinned ears. Got him to stop running around.

So I left him and Danny together for the nite. Well, Doug didn’t think too much of the idea that the other foals went in the barn and got all worked up again.

Poor Doug is not looking as flashy as he used to. He actually has amazing endurance and persistence. I hope I have as much.

I have to go to town for the day. I hope he finds time for a nap.

Elaine even provides tips on how to better prepare your horses for horse sales right on her sale website.

We have included not only the 2007 Sale results but also the 2006 results for you to compare. Interesting? Continue Reading »

Doug’s Weaning Day 1

Weaning the foals. Been going exceptionally well. Heck most of them seemed almost happy to be rid of the old girl and hanging around with us humans.

And then there is Doug. He was a pretty friendly fellow all summer. A bit arrogant but his mama is boss and is more than willing to make sure any and all the other horses respect the wants of her darling son. Continue Reading »
