2008 April Draw
DO NOT enter this draw as it is completed and already drawn. Be sure to enter our current draw.
Our draw for April is for an autographed book called Spur of the Moment by Ben Crane. It is a fun book filled with Ben’s humour and drawings.
Spur Of The Moment is a stunning coffee table book of 80 pages of western art depicting people, horses, cows and other forms of wildlife and the humorous situations they get themselves into. A retrospective compilation of over 100 paintings celebrating Ben’s colorful career as one of Canada’s premiere western cartoonists from early childhood to his present status as one of Leanin’ Tree’s high selling artists. Endorsements and contributors to this questionable book include Jack Davis, one of the founders of Mad Magazine; Mike Scovel, Leanin’ Tree’s top-selling artist; and a host of other artists, collectors and western artisans who ought to have knowed better than to lend their unsullied names. Text by best-selling family and humor author Phil Callaway, foreword by western cartoonist legend Boots Reynolds.
And what would we like you to comment about this month? How about telling us how fast or slow your internet connection is. Are you on dial up? (my sympathies). Satelite? Wireless Tower? Cable? Something else?
You can enter the draw by putting in a comment below this entry on the blog. Good luck everyone.
NOTE from Mark - Anyone tried Wi-Max from Bell?
It is internet over power lines. You just plug a special device in to an electrical outlet and you have instant high-speed. The service is about $60 a month from what I can tell on the Bell website, but is only available in areas near to cities.
Here is a link to a page with more information: Bell Wi-Max

I’m on cable. It’s relatively fast.
Well unfortunately we are on dial up still but just can’t justify getting high speed/whatever for the amount of time spent on the computer. I do envy everyone that has anything but dial up to upload pics/emails that are larger!!:) We can’t even think about going on You Tube!! It would take a week to download a video:)
I’m on dial - up. Connection varies during time of day, but, I’m happy with it. Use High Speed at work, so can have the best of both.
dial up ..and no chance of high speed at a reasonble price..just satilite at 95.00 per mth
Dial -up. It is slowwwww. Sending large photos or emails is excruciating!!!
I’m on DSL. Its the best !
We use to be on dial-up, but recently went to satelite. What a difference.
Have been on satelite for a few months now and what a pleasure it is compared to dial up. Not only is the speed an advancement but the availability of an open phone line is quite nice.
I keep wanting to buy this book. If I win that is even better!
Unfortunately, I’m on dial up and it’s slower then molasses. I’ve been looking into other options and my favorite two is satellite and wireless. I’ll be moving to a more mountainous location soon so depending where I will be, I might go with satellite or if I’m not to far from a tower, I’ll go for wireless.
We are on dial- up. It was created to teach patience not computor meltdown and and keyboard rage. I tried to download Google Earth. It was going to be 5 hours 45 min.
We finally resorted to buying a laptop. Went to Safeway and downloaded it in 5 minutes or less for free.
Ive got dial up and man is it slow.. by the time a picture uploads i could have taken one of my horses for a nice ride.. and we are to far outa town for high speed and my parents arnt big internet freaks so no satelite for me
I did have dial-up, now we have a Telus air-card at $100 per month due to my work that I do. It has made a big world of difference with my work and also with my farm life. There is no other option due to where we reside.
We have Sasktel HighSpeed Wireless and it has been great.
I know what dial up is ,had wireless on the farm, retired an moved to town.We enjoy the speed.

Alas…we are on dial up…which is fine as long as the dinosaurs don’t get to fighting and wreck havoc with our SaskPower lines!! LOL!!
Dial-up, but on a separate line because I work on the computer and need an internet connection constantly. It works pretty good since it’s always on and the email never piles up, but video download is pretty much never going to happen because it just takes too long.
have dial up , out here in the sticks, but its not bad most of the time
We moved to satelite almost a year ago. It costs us about 60.00/mon which is only 35.00 more than we were paying for dial-up and it is soooo much better. It is fast but not quite fast enough to keep up to a live feed with sound and picture. It gives us one or the other, but both only for short periods.
We are on wireless tower since our move to the acerage. And really don’t fine it any different then when we were in town. Maybe just a tad slower at heavy usage times???? And cheap $25.00 per month and a $350.00 hook up fee. If we find it to slow we have the option to upgrade to $35.00 or $45.00 a month for faster service. But so far it seems to be just fine for waht we are doing with it!!!!
We have high speed, did the dial up for about a year and
the frustration was too much for the work we have to do.
I have dial-up and it is super slow. Do not even try to download pictures. Use highspeed at work.
Living in a rural area we have no access to DSL/cable. It’s satellite TV and broadband high speed here at a monthly cost of $83.50. Can’t live with dial up!
Great website you have here. I’m on wireless and what’s even
better is that it comes with my rent. Can’t get better than that!!
I’m on xplorenet wireless; love it as I spent years on Telus dial-up!
Today is the 22nd and I have been trying to enter this contest since the 1st of April but have been unable to establish a connection , so you have a guess at what kind of internet service I have.—————————————————————————————————————————————————————- . You guessed it !!! DIAL UP .
Hi there everybody! Nice weather Eh! I’m on dial up and its slower than molasses in winter time. So I stop by the library now and then. Cause they aren’t on dial up. Take care.
We are on Sasktel line-of-sight and are very impressed with the speed.
I’m on wireless, through xplornet…..I can’t say enough about how it’s changed my computer use. I love it.
