Results for 2008 Western Select Horse Sale

Tags: horse sale, horse sale results, Western Select Horse Sale.The Western Select Horse Sale in Olds was a success!! A total of 40 horses went through the sales ring, with 30 finding new homes. Average price was around $2400, including young horses, broodmares, and broke horses. Overall a great day, great sale - and we are looking forward to this sale again next year!!

I would have been very dissapointed if I had a horse in the Western Select Sale. I’m not sure if there wasn’t enough promotion or what , but the crowd of horse buyers was definitely not arond. As usual ,Ron Anderson did a fabulous job, but that’s about as good as it got the whole day. If you expect to get quality horses back for your sale , you are going to have to do a better job next year.
I think Ryan did a good job of advertising and promoting this sale; I saw ads for it for months, so I’m not sure where Gord is coming from. The rising cost of fuel probably kept a few buyers home.
If I am correct, this is the sale that was held at the same time as the Mane Event in RD right? I saw lots of ads as well. Maybe scheduling was the problem
