Free Draw – Signed Ben Crane Print

This draw is over. Please don’t enter now as we have already drawn for this one. Best that you find the most current draw (click on Free Draw in the categories listed on the right).

————————————————–

The more you look at this great example of Ben Crane’s wild imagination, the more the details become apparent. It is called “Bees in the Outhouse”.

To enter just comment on this post by clicking on “comments” below and answering our question. Our question for this draw?

How can we make Northernhorse.com better for you?

The winner of our last draw was Carrie Hall. Congratulations Carrie!!

They are talking snow for the weekend. Two of our babies (they are no longer really ours but if they are born here we kind of claim them forever) are showing in the Pot O Gold in Ponoka and then we are having dinner with family in Edmonton. I’m not ready for cold and snow yet. And driving up the QE2 in the season’s first snow storm rates right up there with sky-diving for fear factor. Didn’t summer go particularly fast this year?

I really love this website!! I am on it daily, but I think a good addition would be to have a clinician part. Were we have listings of clinicians, where they are located and what sort of clinics they do!

  2. Ranae says:

A special feature section on horses for sale with a video option would be great. The times are a changing and for us 90% of our horses are sold with just pictures on the internet and video.

  3. Veronica says:

NH is by far my favorite horse website. You don’t have to change a thing.

  4. Beth Veldhuis says:

    I love NH.com

Its got all kinds of great info on.it I Hope fully the paint mare i have posted will sell from here.. would love to see a hit counter on the ads,
I love the ben crane site,, we used to see him lots,, but haven’t for a while,, maybe it s time to log in and see where he is performing,,

  5. Shelley says:

I love your site. I really enjoy looking at the pictures of the horses for sale. I wouldn’t change a thing!! Keep up the good work!!!

  6. Lynn says:

Beth, I am happy to let you know that there is already a hit counter on the ads on the Northernhorse.com classifieds. Just look on the individual page for the sale horse and you will see a line in the bottom right corner that says “This ad has been viewed XXX times. That is an individual counter for that ad. They are visible on all the ads.

  7. Pam says:

I am on NH every day, even if just to browse. I have been to every link listed, and other than upcoming clinics I think you have most if not all, bases covered. I have used the site for selling and have sold all within a very short time. Hey, what about a working cow dog link for listings? Not just pets, but proven working cow dogs?

  8. Cindy says:

I like it the way it is!

  9. Shirley says:

This is by far the best horse website. I agreee that being able to post videos would be an asset, also like the idea of listing clinics but that may not work as most of them don’t need to advertise extensively as they fill up so fast. A working dog site would be good too; how about a link to the Alberta Stock Dg association?

  10. Sandy says:

Love the website. Don’t change a thing.

  11. Gloria says:

I realy like this site, and the very good custermer service at the moment i cant think of anything that would make it better, its pretty good the way it is. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!

  12. tina says:

In your modified search in the horse classified when you search price low to high all the contact consigner stuff is placed first and maybe it could be placed last.

  13. Brenda says:

I, too, am on this website often. However you decide to add to this website would be just fine with me.

  14. Carrol says:

Well…what isn’t good on NH??? Cant think of a thing, cept’n maybe I don’t have any horses listed there any more eh?
Love looking at your site L&D, and I’d love it even more if Ben Crane’s pic was in my office.
    Great job,
    CCR

  15. Melinda Rauser says:

I think this site is easy to use, I’m sure whatever gets added would be great just don’t delete anything.

  16. Gwen says:

You have a great website, I go on it whenever possible. The only thing I would like to see in the horse classification, is a modified search. Good job. Gwen

  17. Linda says:

I come to this site quite a few times during the day, everyay. I enjoy coming here and searching around. Always something new.

  18. Angela says:

It’s a great website, I make sure to check it out daily. I don’t think it needs any changes.

  19. Kyla says:

Your website is great, no changes are needed!!

  20. Ronda says:

I have to admit this is the first site I go to…..everyday.
    Just love this site.
I couldn’t imagine you making it better.

  21. nadine says:

Northern Horse is a great site and I too check it daily. Something that I noticed is that for the newest horse listings you have to go into each horse ad to see the listed/asking price. Whereas in the older ads, you do not need to view the details of the ad to see the price.
Thanks and keep up the great work!

  22. Melodie says:

I agree with a previous post about having a section that lists clinicians and upcoming clinics.

  23. K. Gore says:

By far my favorite site on the Net, I visit at least once a day, sometimes more often. And I have purchased my last two horses from this site, one being an ad in the classifieds, the other from a ranch that was listed. I always look through every category in the classifieds. The only (tiny) burr under my blanket is that on rural dial up internet (high speed either not available or extremely expensive), it can take some time to load. While I agree having video links for ads is a great selling tool, it could take us folks on dial up too long to load and view the ads. The links to youtube and other video sites is nice because the ad doesn’t take so long to load, but the video is still available. Keep up the great work and keep advertising, I’m always in the market for another horse!

  24. Shelley says:

This is the best Canadian site I have been on, also have had success selling on your site. Keep up the good work!!!!!!

  25. Kimberly says:

I love this website. I found it very easy to navigate and narrow down my search when looking for a horse this summer. Keep up the great work.

  26. Laura says:

I think that NH is a great website, easy to navigate, very infomative and very helpful in all aspects. All in all great job everyone :)

    LOVE IT!

  27. Carrie says:

I ‘surf’ this site several times a week…sometimes to learn something new, read the latest horsey news, sometimes to browse and dream about that one horse I vow to one day own. (For the record “that” horse is a solid QH Palomino mare with no white on her feet and only a perfect star on her face, ha ha, the horse I dreamed about as a girl.)

Great site, keep up the good work. If I might, all I would suggest is a section regarding ‘tack use’…maybe a feature weekly showing different bits and their best uses/saddle parts that can be ‘upgraded’ etc. As a woman who grew up with horses, then had to part ways with them as a teen…then was blessed enough to be reunited with them in her mid-20s I missed out on lots of the ‘new-fangled’ tack stuff and improved items and love to learn about them. :)

  28. Karlene says:

I have this website on my homepage I think it would be great to maybe have a place where people could ask questions and trainers could give their answers. That way people could go to Northernhorse for their Blog, Horses for sale, Info on Ranchs, Upcoming Events and then their horse Questions. I think this would be a great addtion to the website. I know it would bring me and my friends what we want to see.

  29. carrie hall says:

this site is already great the way it is. we use it to sell most our horses and have had good luck with it. keep up the great work.

  30. Julie Moorcroft says:

I think this is a great magazine and the blog offers lots of opportunity for people to share ideas. Don’t change a thing – keep reporting on the cutting edge stuff – it’s important that everyone gets educated.

  31. Debbi Rainey says:

I absolutely love the Northern Horse sight. I use it to look for horse sales and other information I need for my horses. I have bought several horses through the sight and have my website listed. The only comment I would have to make is it would be nice to look for horses for sale by region, but that is such a small thing. I love the videos and the blogs.
And Ben Crane….too funny! I always buy cards with his artwork!!!

  32. Elise says:

    Great functional site!!!

  33. Lois says:

I’m totally addicted to northern horse and I’m on it almost every day. We bought one of our horses through the classifieds and are really happy with him. It would be nice if all ads had the price in the thumbnail ad without having to go to details. Please keep up the excellent work!

  34. Lindsay says:

I’m starting to really like this website. It seems to be by far the best site to market western horses in alberta, and is just awesome in it’s depth of coverage and information. I’d love to see a section on clinics and clinicians, and also, perhaps, there might be a way to make the site as appealing to the english market in western canada as it is to the western.

    Great job!

  35. christa says:

I would love to see the NH do a “website/ranch” of the month feature. Love the website as it is though!
