12 Horses Killed on Deerfoot

I read the news article in the Calgary Herald about the tragic accident and am having trouble understanding how Mr. desBarres can say he has no issue with how the animals were being transported when, in the same article, it says the driver, Gordon Trach has been charged with careless driving, failing to produce insurance, driving with no license plate on the trailer, operating the vehicle without the proper licence (and I would guess training to drive a large truck and trailer).

Where are all these animal rights people, such as PETA!. They should have been there on Deerfoot checking this inhumane transport of horses, by someone that shouldn’t have even been behind the wheel of that truck, never mind hauling live animals.
Pay more ATTENTION to this sort of thing and leave the rodeo stock alone. This sort of thing should be unacceptable!!

OH MY GOD! I just read that article and it appauls me that some stupid driver gets away with crap like that. Nice to see the police slap him on the wrist for all his “charges”, what about the horses he killed and the ones that now have sustained the stress from transport?? It just sickens me to the point of MAD!!!!

If you google the horse transport accident, it goes on to say that these horses were going to slaughter. Excuse me but it was reported that the horses saved were going to pasture to recover. What then, they recover then off to slaughter. The newspaper should report the whole story. No one seems to realize what is going on.
