Photo Contest

This photo contest is over. Please don’t enter as you cannot win. Check for a new contest and share your photo creativity with us.

I am fully expecting that if it clears off tonight like it is supposed to that from daybreak on tomorrow there are going to be some pretty great photo ops. All this snow must be good for something, eh? So I want you all to get out there and get some nice “Horses in the Snow” images. Then I want you to share them with us all on the new Photo Contest we are putting up.

Then anyone who would like to vote on the photos can come to this blog entry and use the comment section below to tell us which one they liked the best. On March 15 (or maybe March 16th as the contest ends at midnight) we will tally up the votes and announce the winner.

The winner will get a gift card from Starbucks or Timmys. I suspect we will have some snow about for awhile so I will make the deadline March 15th.

My vote is for #140. This is an amazing shot! The blue ‘cast’ shadow on the snow adds so much depth to the overall photo. The only negative, is that it has been altered and is not in its original state (the background has been blanked out).

I would also like to vote for my own photo # 147. I think this is a creative angle in which to capture an image. I also like the way the snow around the outside of the mirror contrast with the ‘blue’ tones of the snow. The eye is drawn to the mirror, which in turn looks to what is contained within, which is a lovely girl on an the amazing ‘resue’ Buddy.

  3. Emily Jardine says:

140 captures a moment, 145 is very beautiful and 154 is just plain fun – Poppy is a really funny and sweet mare who is really coming out of her shell (she’s a rescue too!) :)

  36. Margaret says:

I vote for picture Id.234 called ‘Sunset’ hands down. It is well centred and I would love to have that on my living room wall. It reresents the close of a winter day where the horses are quietly munching on their evening meal after which some of them will bed down for a nice long snooze while the others doze and stand watch. Truly a great western scene. I love it!!

  37. Jake says:
