Winner of Photo Contest

It is time to announce the winners (yes winners – we had a tie)  of our “Horses in the Snow” Photo Contest. Before we do though I would like to comment on the absolutely amazing photographers who entered this draw. We have had so many comments on the quality of the photos. We are so impressed with both our winners that we have decided not to share the prize between you but to send you each a $50 coffee card.

Our first winner is “Spirit of the Foothills” by Doreen Henderson. Many of you probably already know of the dedication and hard work Doreen has committed to the wild horses in Alberta. Without her I’m not sure they would still exist. This is one of those wild horses she works so hard to protect. Can’t you just feel the freedom and spirit of him and his kind when you look at this photo? Thank you Doreen for keeping some wildies in our west country and sharing this with us.

Our second winner is “Sunset” by Tara Bullen.  She not only captured the horses in the snow but also one of our beautiful sunsets. I have enjoyed countless evenings checking my own horses just before dark and listened to them munching their hay.  Very nice photo Tara. Thank you for entering it and sharing it with our visitors.

Thank you also to all the folks who took the time to help judge our photo contest.  Your comments were very interesting.

We have started another photo contest – this time I am hoping all your images will give us a glimpse of the spring we are all so ready for.

Well Done to both!! All the pictures were pretty amazing but I agree. These 2 photos would be ones I would love enlarged and on my living room wall at home!
Congrats to the winners and great job! I loved looking at all the new photos!!!
