Foaling Information

Although my two babies aren’t due into the big, bright world until May I know some of you are getting your babies now. It makes me long for the smell of milk and the ticklish feelings from their whiskers as they explore my face. I always worry they will think my nose is a teat and latch onto it.

If you don’t have as much experience at foaling a mare as you would like, there is a great brochure on the AQHA site called An Owners Guide to Foaling that provides a great deal of information in language we can all understand.

I also found a rather good article on preparing for foaling called Here Comes Baby on America’s Horse Daily.
