2009SummerPhotoContest

Our 2009 Summertime Photo Contest is Over. We have picked a winner. Please don’t enter or vote on this one. Check for a current one.

Winner is Number 677 Shy Rider by Nola Shannon.

Summertime & the living is easy. Old song, most of you have probably never heard it. And, although we are all concerned about the hay situation with these long warm days and not enough moisture, we certainly have to admit that the riding has never been better. Hardly any mosquitoes and no mud or bogs. You can cross our big slough right now without getting your horse’s feet wet.

So get out there and ride or do whatever it is that you like to do with your horses. I know folks who just like to hang out with their horses and never get on their backs. Now is the time.

Remember to carry your camera so you have it when that great shot happens that could win you a Tim Hortons or Starbucks card here at Northernhorse.com, you can snap it and send it in. The rules are on the Photo Contest Page. That is also where you submit your photos.

Then anyone who would like to vote on the photos can come to this blog entry and use the comment section below to tell us which one they liked the best. On September 1, 2009  we will tally up the votes and announce the winner.

The winner will get a gift card from Starbucks or Timmys. Want to enter or vote and having trouble? Just email lynn@northernhorse.com and I will help.

I should vote for my own photo (603) but the photo that most stands out to me is 667…. if a picture says a thousand words…. the expression on this girl’s face says a million! There is nothing more exciting than seeing a child interact with a horse… she looks so thrilled… an emotion that a lot of us adults have forgotten when dealing with horses and life in general!

    Beautiful!

  48. Robyn says:

After looking at all the pictures, and I mean all of them a fair bit, I will have to choose photo number #688. The other pictures are beautiful, but the detail that was captured from this horse. I mean… you can see the eyelashes. This is the kinda photo I would purchase as a print to put on a wall, or to give as a gift to my other horse loving friends.

Definitely a great photo done by a skilled photographer.
