Working From Jamaica
One of the blessings (and curses some would think) of working on the web is you can work almost everywhere. Even in Jamaica. So my office today overlooks the beautiful Caribbean Sea. The air is warm and moist. My dried out skin is already plumping up, my hair is a ball of frizz. I swam in the warm salt water this morning but had to quit sooner than I wanted as it seems like only minutes before our sun starved bodies turn pink.
Not much horsey to report although I am thinking of signing up for a ride where we can ride in the ocean. Kind of like a mix of two of my favorite sports, riding and scuba – although I am not really planning to be under water on the ride.
My first dive is booked for tomorrow morning. They have seen dolphins and turtles on the last two dives. The chances of seeing them is increased because the sea is rough and it has been stormy and some of these critters come in closer to land when the conditions get rougher at sea. It also means this old woman is going to have to tough out rough conditions getting in and out of the dive boat. Not to mention that our son Todd (some of you may know him from Crestwood Vet in Edmonton or from his new pastime playing with some cutting horses) gets quite sea sick heading out to the sites when it is so rough. But… you forget all that when you get under the waves and a whole new world in which you are weightless opens up before you. I am so excited.
Now I must get some work done. My eyes keep straying to check out the passing boats and my ears are trying to pay attention to the Marley music playing down below our balcony. Sometimes I wonder why we don’t just give up and move to a warmer climate.
I don’t think my horse would rather move here though. Not even to get away from having to dig her food out from under the snow. There is something about that good old prairie grown grass and hay that is good for a horse.
Will try to get a photo or two up just to rub it in how nice it is here. LOL
