Went to Red Deer event 2 years ago, hope to go again this year. Definitely need the whole weekend as so much to see. Even then, can miss some things. Good mix of clinicians etc.
My kids and me really like the mane-event.
I hope I can get my husband to go to it as well, then he might understand our passion.
I loved the mane event last year – the shopping is awesome so is the exposure to many clinicians I have not had the oppertunity to see before. This year I am most excited to see johnathan field
My husband and I attended last year. the trainers challenge was what we spent our time at ! this year hope to get around to other clincs. It is so well planned and covers so much info. As long time Quarter horsebreeders , we were over whelmed to see the interest in horses. Yes even if the encomy is in trouble , we were encouraged that people are still interested in horses.Keep up the good work Mane event people.
I have attended every year and participated in a few clinics during two different Mane Events. Love it, great job!!
I’ve never been but sure would like to get there this year!!
I enjoy the entire experience!!
I have been there for two previous years. Really enjoyed the sessions. Good place to pick up tips especially in the area of training young horses.
I’ve never been, but would be interested in both the trainer’s challenge and the dressage clinician.
I would love to see the clinic by Jan Ebeling on Dressage! That would be very cool!
And of course I would absolutely LOVE to look at all the booths and check out all the new products!
I have never been to the Mane Event, but would love to go.. it is a long way from Saskatoon and a costly weekend.. I would love to go and see any clinician as we can all learn something to take back to our horses.. We crave new knowledge as much as our horses crave the “Correct” form of attention and training.. This would be a great opportunity to further my knowledge and my young horses training.
Thanks Again.
Patricia
I would like to see the trainers challenge and actually any other clinician would be very nice.
Thanks
Tammy
I really look forward to the Trainer’s Challenge. With spring just around the corner and learning from the trainers I really look forward to working with my own young horses.
Love the mane event, wouldn’t miss it for anything! We go ever year as a girl’s trip. Can’t wait for this years.
I’ve been to the chilliwack show the first year it ran, and then the first red deer one. I’ve really enjoyed Johnathan field’s presentations, as well as the guy who i forget his name now, but he has the Radio show.
Also the breed demonstrations are fantastic. We wish our camera’s had worked better at the Mounted Shooting demo that happened in Chilliwack, it was really cool
We attended Mane Event in 2008 and were very disappointed to miss it last year. It’s a lot to take in even in three days but worth it. Be prepared to do a lot of walking or running if your chosen clinics are back to back and at opposite ends. One suggestion: Park and ride would be handy.

I have been to the Mane Event and enjoyed everything about it. I look forward to the Trainers Challenge and of course …. the shopping!
Trainers Challenge
I’ve never been but Im going this year. Im most excited to shop and watch the trainers challenge, but I think it will be interesting to see clinicians from a variety of disciplines.
I have never been to the Mane Event although I’ve heard a lot about it and have always wanted to attend. I would be interested in seeing Jonathon Field & Mike Boyle as well as the Trainer’s Challenge. It’s always great to see how someone else handles a difficult situation and makes it look so easy for the horse to understand. I would love the opportunity to learn something new!
Thanks,
Vivianne
No, I have never been to “The Main Event”. I believe the whole program would be very interesting.
I enjoy watching the clinics in a variety of disciples. The trainers challenge is entertaining and they often are very informative and shopping at a variety of vendors is always fun.
I Love the Mane Event. Have been to see it ever since it first came to Red Deer. The Trainer challenge is awesome and love the trade fair. Look forward to it every year and make plans months in advance to take the time off from work to see the challenge right from the start.
So looking forward to this years Mane Event. The Trainer’s challenge and shopping are so much fun.
I have never been to the Mane Event, but a friend invited me to come along this year. I am a beginner rider and would be most interested in a ground training.
Helping out at the one of the breed booths so should be fun helped out with this breed at the Masters at Spruce Meadows so should be fun it can’t hurt that I’m helping with the sire of my foal due April 27th Look for the Australian Stock horses booth
I LOVE the Mane Event. This will be my 3rd year going and I would not miss it. My favorite part is going to all of the different sessions, picking up different tips and then going home and trying new stuff out.
I have never been to the mane event, but I plan on attending this year. I most looking forward to hearing Doug Huls speak on Showmanship fundamentals.
Great event to go to. Love the clinics and the trade show! Lots of information and opportunities to become a better horseperson!
I love the Mane Event, it’s a good chance to meet up with folks I don’t see anywhere else.
Still haven’t been, have always wanted to! I would be interested in learning about the ‘Western Dressage’, also I think learning more about bits with the guy from Myler would be very interesting as well.
I’ve been to every Mane Event since the beginning and have enjoyed every part of it. It is a great venue for horse lovers with so much to learn and see.
I have been to the Mane Event once, last year. I went with my whole family and we all loved it. My Favorites were Jonathan Field and Patrick Hooks.
The one comment I would have to make after attending all the main events in Red Deer, is that I have become better for horses. The insight that the events provide through their selection of trainers and technicians is taking horsemanship to a new level. The old term of breaking a horse is slowly slipping away and being replaced with training a horse. The event can take pride in knowing that it has made major proggresive steps in the province of Alberta in advancing the knowledge and abilities of horse owners, which in turn has made the life of a horse more enjoyable and safe. I am looking forward to attending again in April of 2010.
the first time was 2 years ago, held at Red Deer, I had a sign langauge interpreter because I am deaf and it was hard to hear or read lips so it was good thing I had interpreter to listen the clinics of horse training. It was worth it because there was some words I not know what it meant or some new to me what its called for some methods in training. Personnally I myself trains horses for myself so it was alot of benefit for me to learn and I would love to go again to learn more and more!
everything in the mane event is hard to pick what is the favorite, I say all is great.
Janet
I LOVE the Mane Event and go every year. I like all that knowlege about horses in one place where I can soak it all up. This year I want to take my neice to the event – she is quite new to riding and is taking lessons. Who knew our ranch horse could do (basic) dressage and jump! I want her to see the upper level people and clinicians who really know their stuff! What a great motivation that will be for excellence in the saddle!
I have never been to the Mane Event but would love to go and think it would be an amazing opportunity, I think the part I would look forward to the most is the Trainer’s Challenge!!
Would love……. love…… love……to see the trainers challenge. Just have never been able to make it and would really love to go this year. I’m sure the shopping would be quite rewarding (for my husband) as well=) Thanks…….Hope to see you all there!!!!
I love the mane event! It’s always a great way to start the season
I have been to the the mane event twice, 2009 and 2008. What I love about the mane event is learning new things and meeting horsey people like me.
Since The Mane Event first started coming to Red Deer, I have always wanted to attend but have never had the opportunity to attend. I don’t have a main clinic I would like to attend. I would try to make as many clinics as I could to get as much growing knowledge.
We have been going to the Mane Event for the past 3 years and find it a great way to learn more and premote the horse industry. We look forwaard to attending again this year. Job well done to the organisers of such a large event.
I have been to the Mane Event twice and loved it !! Of course the shopping and the clinicians were great too!! Favorites were defintley Jonathan Field and Stacey Westfall but would like to see more western pleaure type clincians.
I went to the Mane Event on Saturday and Sunday last year. I was astounded watching the Trainers’ Chanllenge. I regretted not being there on the Friday. The trainers were unbelievable and had so much to offer that if I remembered one crucial point each day I considered it an invaluable lesson. There was lots to see and hear and I considered everything besides the Tranier’s Challenge a bonus. The saddel makers were very interesting. What a talent! Kudos to Red Deer for hosting such an incredible event. I would love to attend again.
Love watching Jonathon Field, always so inspiring. And of course the trainers challenge is a great way to learn different methods of accomplishing the same goals,
I have never been to the Mane Event, but i have been told it is awesome, different booths to see and trainers i think it would be a wonderful experience!
My girls go every year and love the trainers challenge. I would have to say the absolute highlight for me was Al Dunning at the 09 event. It’s an incredibly well organized event that is a pleasure to attend, having something of interest for every faucet of the horse industry.
I have been wanting to attend The Mane Event for the past few years now, but have been unable to as I lived 10 hours away. I’m very excited this year, as I have moved within an hour of Red Deer and can attend this year! I am mostly interested in the Training and Clinics, however am anxious to see all of it. Free tickets would only make this experience more enjoyable
We attended the Mane Event for the first time last year. The whole experience was fantastic. We really liked the fact that there are so many diferent disciplines all under one roof. So many people to learn from.
Al Dunning was exceptional. I’m quite sure we wouldn’t have been able to afford one of his clinics elsewhere, but the Mane Event gave us that opportunity.
I have never been to the Mane Event before. My friend and I are taking our 9 yr old daughters who are in the River Valley 4H Club. I am looking forward to seeing Johnathan Field as well as other clinicions.
