1.
Eligible entries are for 4 year-old horses, whose
sires are subscribed for that year and paid up to
date. |
2.
The Cutting Horse Breeders Association of
Canada Stakes will be held in two divisions: Open
Stakes and Non-Pro Stakes. A horse does not have
to be entered in the Open Stakes to be eligible
to compete in the Non-Pro Stakes. |
3.
The added purse for the annual event will
be derived from the Stallion subscription fee’s
plus applicable nomination fees for the foal. |
4.
The purse will be divided between the Open and Non-Pro
divisions in direct proportion to the entries in
each division, with no less than fifty per cent
(50%) going to the Open Stakes Division. |

A)
Yearling nomination fee MUST be received by
December 1st of yearling year. No entry will
be accepted if yearling nomination fee is
not submitted. |

Nomination fees MUST be accompanied by a nomination
form and a copy of the registration papers
(refer to rule 7) |

C)
Cattle and office charges will be set yearly
by the CHBAC. |

D)
Late fees will be charged at 30% on two, three
& four year old entry fees. |

E)
An entry that is paid up in either the Open
or the Non-Pro event may enter the other division
up to April 1st with no penalties applied. |

F)
There will be no refunds for any reason. |

| 6.
Identification of Horses
-
A photocopy of the horse’s
registration papers must be received with the
yearling nomination and kept on file at the
office of the CHBAC.

Unregistered horses, a notarized
statement of age and description by a licensed
veterinarian, together with a notarized statement
for the owner of the stallion acknowledging
parentage and giving permission for a search
of appropriate breeding report must be received.

Failure to comply with these
requirements will cause the entry to be disqualified
and all fees to be forfeited.

A horse is not eligible
to participate in the CHBAC if its age is determined,
by examination of its teeth, exceeds the age
shown on the registration papers, or identification
will be made in accordance with the Official
Guide for Deterring Age of the Horse as currently
published by the American Horse of Equine Practitioners.

The above rules also apply
to substituted horses and late entries.

7.
Change of Ownership
- An entry may change ownership and retain
eligibility provided the Office of the CHBAC is
notified. It is the responsibility of the new owner
to keep up payments when due and has current memberships
in the CCHA and CHBAC. |
8.
Entries to this contest are received subject to
the right of the appropriate Committee of the CHBAC
to refuse the entry or the acceptance of a transfer
of any entry without notice to the subscriber. The
decision of the Committee shall be final in all
matters. |
9.
All owners and riders must be members in good standing
of the Cutting Horse Breeders Association of Canada
and the Canadian Cutting Horse Association. |
10.
Substitutions will be accepted if a veterinary certificate
is received stating that a horse will be unable
to work. Eligible substitutions will be allowed
up to the date of the draw. |
