The Curry Ranch
is located on the North side of the Red Deer River, near the
small hamlet of Buffalo, Alberta. The ranch was established
in 1906, by Magnus Bjork the first, and the Curry's purchased
it from Skinny in 1977. The Quarter Horse program first started
in 1966, when 10 mares and a Poco B Andy stallion were purchased
from Shorty and Pat Suitor. We have been raising good boned,
strong ranch and rodeo horses ever since.
Colts raised in the rugged river coulees grow up sure footed,
and sturdy. Our bloodlines range from old time breeding like
King Leo Bar, Doc Bar, Doc's
Dee Bar, and Leo, to more modern
ones like Zan Parr Bar, Millionaire
Playboy, Root Beer Doc, Doc's
Prescription, Givemalickin, Peppy San Badger, and
Doc O'Lena . Our broodmares also carry the bloodlines
of Oak Bar, Hobby Horse,
Holly 4 Jinx, Peponita,
Sonita's Last, Mr. Gunsmoke, Genuine
Doc, Kilo Bar Jack, and Joe
Douglas. In 2007 we purchased a son of Paddys
Irish Whiskey.
Special discounts available to volume buyers!
If you're looking for a nice balance of old style horses,
and new bloodlines, check out our Sale
Barn. The drive to get here is well worth the
horses we have to show you.
