Balanced Ration with Minerals Included

This ration was designed to compliment Alberta hay and meet the needs of the horse.   Hoffman’s Horse Ration contains a mineral formulation similar to Hoffman’s Mineral built right into it.  You can be confident that this feed, when fed at 3-4 lbs./day, will provide the minerals and vitamins your horse needs without the fuss of topdressing any other mineral or supplement.

 

Senior Horses

Hoffman’s Horse Ration is a pelleted feed which makes us confident that every bite is going to be the same as the last.  It is also ideal for horses which are “hard keepers.”  The pellets allow even older horses to easily chew and digest the feed, helping your horse absorb available nutrients.

 

Hoof Growth

“No hoof, No horse” is a common saying amongst horse people.  Hoffman’s Horse Ration contains the building blocks for the best possible hooves; organic zinc, copper, biotin and lysine are all balanced within the feed.

 

Amino Acid Balanced

Amino acids are balanced to build muscles, enzymes and hormones.  Hoffman’s Horse Ration is balanced for the essential amino acids like lysine, methionine and threonine which are often limited in a horses’ diets.  Proper levels of lysine are critical to prevent body soreness in hard working performance horses.

 

Diamond V Yeast Culture

Diamond V Yeast is a unique “processed” culture added to Hoffman’s Horse Ration.  It is all natural, yeast fermentation metabolites which “feed the bugs”.  This means it provides nutrients for the bacteria found in the digestive tract of the horse.  The health and nutrition of the bacteria improve the digestibility of the forages (hay and grass).  Research on Diamond V Yeast has shown performance is enhanced when using Diamond V Yeast culture.   http://www.diamondv.com/species/equine/equine.htm

Hoffman’s Horse Ration contains protein, cool energy, specific fatty acid profile, complete mineral / vitamin package with B Complex Vitamins.  This ration DOES NOT contain any grains with a high starch content therefore it is the only functional feed for your horse athlete.

 

High Fiber

The Horse has evolved as a continual grazing animal that requires digestible fiber to maintain a healthy diet.  Today’s horses are not consistently exercised.  High starch diets can cause imbalance in the horse’s digestive tract.  Hoffman’s Horse Ration contains high fiber to ensure the horse maintains a healthy metabolism.

 

Cool Energy

Hoffman’s Horse Ration was designed to keep our horses calm.  A hot headed horse can be caused by high starch diets and these horses are no fun to work with.  This is why we requested this ration contain “cool energy sources, derived primarily from digestible fiber and vegetable source fat.  Fat has triple the amount of energy for a horse than starch, or grain such as oats.  Many research studies show horses metabolizing fat energy have higher performance over grain fed horses. 

 

No Grains / No Molasses

Hoffman’s Horse Ration contains no grains.  Equine research results show feeding excess grain can lead to a higher risk of stomach ulcers, founder (laminitis), colic and tying up. 

Hoffman’s Horse Ration contains low levels of NSCs (nonstructural carbohydrates). There are no added sugars or starches.  Horses at risk for insulin resistance and laminitis are safe to eat Hoffman’s Horse Ration.
