At Diamond R, we specialize in performance horses with quiet minds. We started breeding horses for our own use since it was so hard to find good horses. Major Jingo has been our ranch sire since 1993. We bought Major as a yearling to cross with AQHA mares, as he had all the ingredients for a great Sire - CONFORMATION, PEDIGREE and especially his MIND. Major is unshown due to injury as a weanling.
Major represented the Alberta Paint Horse Club at the Paint booth and during demonstrations at the Calgary Stampede and Spruce Meadows for many years. He has produced horses that have excelled in many disciplines from amateur to professional ranks, in three day eventing, roping, cow horse, cutting, reining and barrel racing.
We are also standing one of Major's foals, Majors Major Cowboy, aka "Cowboy", is a 1998 chestnut tobiano stud. Cowboy stands 15 hands and weighs 1100 lbs. Sired by Major Jingo and out of a daughter of Major Bonanza, Cowboy has great athletic ability and extreme cow sense which he is also siring in his offspring. Watch for Cowboy at most major shows this season.
Due to physical health, we are getting out of the business of raising horses and have many of our horses for sale at a discount. We are still standing both Major Jingo and Majors Major Cowboy to outside mares. Please contact us for more information.
