Welcome to Double K Ranch

Home to Kim and Kurtis Paradis, and our 2 girls. We are located in the beautiful hills north east of Mayerthorpe, Alberta. 

Were a family operation and enjoy being able to be with horses. We have been raised with horses, and are very partial to them, they are a great animal!  Our goals are to train great horses, with our customers in mind. Being a barrel racer, training that GREAT barrel horse is huge goal of mine. Kurtis a calf roper and are horses get exposed to alot of stuff.  We dream and train for fast horses that can get down in the ground  to turn and stop! Were a small ranch, but we have some great horses to offer.  We took a different turn and sold are stud and most of mares to have more room for training. We have some nice prospects and we enjoy getting them going and getting them out there to the public. We raise a couple babies a year, and we have 3 VERY nice fillies for sale this year.  We also have a great number of outside horses here all year round to start under saddle and start on barrels.

We train, season and sell horses. We concentrate on barrel horses and having that #1 barrel horse, with a great mind. All our horses in any discipline have good conformation, disposition, breeding and excellent training under them.  We want our horses not only to succeed in barrel racing but also any timed event or just a great all-around horse. With this in mind we want our horses to be just plain GREAT!  They need to be willing, trainable, and a joy to be around. We want a horse that can tear up the race track, the mind and training to walk out and go for a trail ride, conformation to have that horse last a life time and a pedigree to say it can do it all. We feel that our horses should be albe to do anything, they all get exposed to barrels, trail riding, calf roping, move cattle, pole bending and so much more.

It has taken us sometime but we feel confident that what we have today can or well do all that and much more. We want our customers happy when they leave with a new horse from us and in 10yrs they are still happy with them.

We want to wish Gayleen (Bink) Buff the world of luck in getting her goal achived and making it to the CFR this year on a GREAT barrel horse "Vador" that was trained, seasoned and sold here. They are both making their mark and reaching their goal in the standings sitting 13th!!  We well be cheering you on at the CFR!! Also best wish's to Connie Senkoe on achiving her goals barrel racing on another great horse Dry Spell 109 "Molson" a son of Who's Bad which we take great honor in training, seasoning and selling here. These girls and horses make us PROUD!
