Welcome to Double K Ranch

Double K ranch is home to Kimberly Senkoe, my 3 daughters and all our horses! We are located in Maidstone, Sask. We have a great training facility at McClelland Quarter Horses, that includes a 60 x 120 indoor riding arena, 100 x 200 outdoor arena and a full time cow/calf operation. Please check out McClelland's website for great horses they have, we work together to have some outstanding horses www.northernhorse.com/mcclelland.

I enjoy being able to be with horses. I enjoy my job, being around horses, teaching them and learning from them. I was raised with horses which allowed me start riding at 2yrs old with just a piece of twin, as I was great at sneaking away from my parents to go riding and since then have never got off.  I have became very partial to them. You can learn so much from a horse and I never seem to stop learning from them or losing any interest in them.

Training horses is my passion.  I train for a solid consistant and willing horse.  I have some nice prospects which I enjoy getting them going and getting them out there to jackpots, futurities and derbies. My prospects need to be willing, trainable, nice to be around, and versatile.  I train, season and sell horses. I enjoy problem horses as well and seem to buy lots of them, it's such a great feeling to solve their problems and watch them grow.  I have a great number of outside horses here all year round to start under saddle, start on barrels, or put miles on, which I enjoy having and having such great and happy customers that keep coming back.

I feel that horses should be able to do anything and the horses here, get exposed to barrels, trail riding, moving cattle, processing calves, roping, sorting cattle, pole bending and so much more. I put loads of basic's on the horses I train. I beleive that if you don't have basic's you don't have anything, it's a very important step in my training. I like to have my horses to be able to fall back on their basic's if they have a problem. Having them calm, relaxed, always expecting what is next and willing to stay soft to do anything I ask of them, is really important to me.

Please check out the Training page. I have a VERY sucessfull training program and a busy one at that! and love every moment of it, to colts to start, barrel training, barrel futurities/derbies, problem solving, conditioning and seasoning for barrels. I also can give lessons to the owners to help them in any way with thier horses. My outside horses are very important and I take pride in them. I also have started doing barrel clinics, lessions, and teaching customers to start horses and contuine on with them. I did take off 2010 to go to college and to have our new addition to our family a baby girl, I'm now back full time training horses and barrel racing.

I want to wish Gaylene (Bink) Buff the world of luck in getting her goal achived and making it to the CFR in 2008 on a GREAT barrel horse "Vador" that was trained, seasoned and sold here. They are both making their mark and reaching goals going into the CFR and finishing reserve canadian champion, and rookie of the year. Also getting into 2009 Calgary for 100,000!! and what great sucess they had there.  Cheering you on for another CFR finals this year.  GOOD LUCK!  Vador is a great sucess of mine and I'm very proud of Gaylene and Vador, and all that they have accomplished! They are champions in my heart no doubt! THEY ARE NOW THE 2009 CFR BARREL RACING CHAMPION!

Also best wish's to Connie Senkoe on achiving her goals barrel racing on another great barrel horse Dry Spell 109 "Molson" a son of Who's Bad which we take great honor in training, seasoning and selling here as well, I have rodeoed him from time to time on him and pulled cheques. My great sucess is winning the lotto barrel race at the JDP Classic in 2009 on Molson we came home with a championship saddle and buckle! Congrats to Connie on winning her 1st buckle ever and doing it with Molson! Molson as moved on to be owned by Lisa Trach I want to wish her all the best with Molson as they go down the rodeo trail in 2010. In just a few months of owing Molson she won a saddle on him and last year pulled cheques at some WRA/LRA rodeos. This year they are running pro! All the best.

"Poco" a derby finalist mare of mine she became 2008 ABRA Youth 2D champion.

These girls and all our horses make me PROUD! All the sucess they have had and so much more to come.  Ride hard stay smooth the sky is the limit!
