Pretzel is quick, catty and loves to cut, his circles are
great and his lead changes are deadly. Pretzel’s spins can be rocket launchers
if you let him go. His reaches on his crossovers are incredible; his
stops are great as well. Pretzel was shown lightly in reining and placed
fairly descent, things just didn’t work out which isn’t his fault at all.
He is incredibly confident at all times and is very nice to be around and he
passes all of that into his foals.
Pretzel’s oldest offspring are riding now and are showing
greatness. They are so smart it takes about 10 minutes to halter break
them and are easy to get started under saddle. They are calm and take to
new things like ducks to water. You just keep showing them something new
and they lap it up. One colt, HQH Genuine Boston, Bossman, was tracking
cattle on his seventh ride. Probably would have done it sooner just never
brought in the cattle any sooner.
To top all of this, he is a colour producer. He has
thrown one sorrel in two foal crops. His third crop will be starting soon
and we are so excited because of the new mares that we have bought for him.
Pretzel was started back on cattle lightly last fall but
will be back into cutting full time this spring and all next fall and winter.
Pretzel even went team penning last fall and enjoyed
himself immensely.
