About Us

We are located in Kelowna, B.C., in the much sought after region commonly referred to as the "Sunny Okanagan". We bought our first mare, Jackie, 15 years ago, before we even owned land! Sound familiar! When we needed a name for our farm, we realized that the first 4 letters in her name were the first initials in ours! We think it was fate!  Since then we have been selectively breeding a small band of broodmares for quality of mind and body.  Once upon a time, Matlock Rose once said "I don't know that there's a certain breed for a certain event. I never could swallow that a horse is just a reiner or a cutter or a roper. I think you can do any part of it with a nice horse that's an athlete. Although some horses might have a little more intelligence on a cow, and some are more trainable than others, if a horse has the conformation, the athletic ability and the mind, you can train it for anything".  That has been our goal with our breeding program, everything that Matlock Rose says a horse should be. One easy enough to handle, that even a novice or amateur can train up themselves.
