Stallions
LS Shaken Coronas
Chance is one of my young stallions. Born and raised here, I've been anxiously waiting his first foal crop born this spring (2009). I am very impressed with what I am seeing. These first offspring are quite impressive - big hips, straight legs and well balanced.
What an incredible pedigree Chance has. His sire, Count Corona, is the sire of the 2007 Canada Cup Derby winner and Canadian Hi Point 3 yr old gelding Six Pack Of Corona (SI 106 and race earnings of $140,620). Count Corona is from Quarter Horse racing's most successful family being a full brother to 2 time Champion Race Horse Corona Cash and full brother to Valiant Hero (SI 105 $668,633). He is a 3/4 brother to top sire Corona Cartel. Their dam, Corona Chick, was a racing Champion as well as an AQHA broodmare of the year.
Chance's dam, Shake Em Warrior, is a half sister to Canadian Champion 3 year old gelding, Eyesa Warrior (SI 101 and race earnings of $61,312) and Sign Of A Warrior (SI 104 race earnings $26,405). His maternal grandsire, Royal Shake Em, was a top racehorse who has become a successful sire of race horses and barrel racing horses. Lots of potential in these bloodlines.
Chance is a compact bundle of speed. He has a large hip, short back, long underline and low set hocks. He can really explode into running but he can also sit on his hindquarters and spin. Boy is he quick and catty.
He is a Canadian Barrel Horse Incentive nominated stallion and a participant in their stallion stakes program. More info can be found on their website www.canadianbarrelincentive.com
LS Shaken Coronas has been 5 panel tested. He is negative across the board for PSSM, HYPP, HERDA, GBED & MH

Zumo Dat Cash
It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this. On July 23, 2011 Zoom died unexpectedly. He is buried in his favorite spot to stand and scan the neighborhood. We miss him greatly. May you always have green grass and fresh water my big boy. Rest peacefully.
I first met Zoom when I went to the home of his former owner to buy a yearling son of his. He caught my eye then so when the opportunity became available to purchase him, I jumped at the chance to bring him to my farm. I cannot say enough good things about him. What a great dispositioned stallion. I lead him all over with just a rope and he never makes a fuss. Just an easy stallion to have around.
Zoom had a successful racing career of his own south of the border. He won stakes races, tied a track record, achieved a speed index of 101 and his racing ROM.
He has proven himself to be an exceptional sire of horses with speed, athletic ability and a sensible mind. All of these qualities are necessary in a top barrel horse. His offspring have shown incredible barrel racing talent with numerous wins at the futurity and derby levels as well as in amateur and pro rodeo. Right from the start, his foals are friendly and outgoing. They love attention, learn quickly and eagerly wait for you to show them new things.
His offspring are eligible for the Canadian Barrel Horse Incentive program. He is alsoa participant in their super stakes stallion program. Go to www.canadianbarrelincentive.com for more information.
WOW - what an exciting year 2008 has been. One of Zoom's son's, Dat Blue Moon, has qualified for the CFR in barrels AND earned a spot to compete at the Calgary Stampede in 2009 (complete information at bottom of stallion page). UPDATE: his son, Vader, finished second at the 2008 CFR with $55,000+ in seasons earnings.
Another son, Zumo On By, was a ladies barrel racing Lakeland Rodeo finalist, a Wildrose Rodeo finalist and ran the fastest time of the first go round at the ABRA finals. The "kids" are performing.
2009 has been equally exciting for the Zoom kids. Vader became the 2009 CFR Ladies Barrels Champion with $67,555 in earnings. Way to go!
As well another gelding by Zoom was a Lakeland Rodeo barrel racing finalist. Congratulations.

Dat Blue Moon
I have included "Vador" on here as a reference stallion. I owned him for 8 years and used him as my stallion. I have kept two of his daughters in my broodmare band. The decision was made to geld him to further his barrel racing career and he has since been sold to a new home. He has had a successful barrel racing career with top 5 placings in futurity and derbies. However with his new jockey his rodeo career has been outstanding.
In 2008 in his first year on the pro circuit he qualified for the CFR with wins at Jasper, Abbotsford and the Wrangler Pro Rodeo Tour Finale. He was CFR reserve champion and finished the year with $55,249 in barrel earnings.
2009 has been another extraordinary year. Vador and Gaylene competed at the Calgary Stampede and had a number on wins throughout the season. But the highlight came with becominging CFR CHAMPIONS and finishing the year with $67,555 in earnings.
As a sire his foals are showing incredible intelligence. They learn so fast and they do not forget. They've been easy to start under saddle. I've spoke with many of the new owners of Vador's foals and everyone has said you could just get on and ride them with no fuss and they are very trainable horses. That has been nice to hear. I have 2 of his daughters in my broodmare band and both will be having their first foals in 2010.
I wish Vader and Gaylene all the best. Congratulations my handsome boy!
