About our Hay operation
Hay production has always been our primary focus. We grow for the export and domestic markets. Export timothy is labor intensive and weather dependent. We work with the hay processors to constantly monitor and improve our practices for the end market.
Our haying operation is split between export timothy and mixed hay. Through our hay processors our product has been sold worldwide. Our domestic market has stayed strong and we have an extensive horse clientele. We have been a part of this industry for 25 years. This industry has grown and evolved, but one thing has never changed - the demand for a dry, quality product. Despite unpredictable weather patterns our goal is to put up the best product we can. We feel that a huge key to our success is dry hay and storage.
Hay sheds are an integral part of our operation. Every bale is shedded on two layers of black plastic. At present we have room for 45,000 bales. Our product is guaranteed and a hay analysis can be provided upon request. Svend has provided information and guidance for many new growers and continues to consult in this area.
Our sincere thanks to our buyers. A cold, dry spring and continual lack of moisture has presented its challenges for our 2009 season. Product is in short supply and market prices are reflecting this. At this time we have a supply of timothy hay left, cut early, put up in beautiful shape with 10% moisture. Please call for current prices.
