Invite Me In, "Mia", is our daughter Cheyenne's new show horse. The two have already developed into quite a team and will no doubt  have a tremendous future in store for them.  2009 was a true test for Cheyenne in that not only did she have to leave the love of her life "Sonny" at home for the show season but she also had to learn how to ride in a completely different way as Mia is spur stop trained.  She rose to the challenge (at the ripe old age of 10) and with the invaluable help from very dear friends the accomplishments for 2009 were many:

2009 Hi Point 13 & Under All Around Zone 10 Zoneorama Champion

Hi Point 13 & Under Champion at the APHC Fall Classic.

SONNY is our ten year old daughter Cheyenne's show horse. We bought him from Keera Drinkall from Toad River, BC and we are so happy that we were lucky enough to be the one's who ended up with him. It was a hard sale for Keera for she loved him as much as Cheyenne does now and we are thankful to her for letting us be the one's to take him home. We promised her we would take very good care of him and Cheyenne has done everything she can to live up to that. The two formed an instant bond and Sonny is never far from Cheyenne's thoughts. Sonny takes such good care of Cheyenne she has been able to focus on her horsemanship skills and become a better rider. The APHC show circuit will be seeing alot of Cheyenne and Sonny.

Hi, I'm Cheyenne, when I first joined 13 & under I was really nervous but my first class it felt like I was in Walk/Trot again!!  I'm so proud of Sonny for his first year in 13 & Under. If anybody has a horse and shows in APHA, don't forget to smile because it's not about winning, it's just about having fun and if you do win it's just icing on the cake, and when you have a great horse like I do and you love them very much it just makes it all the more special!!

Their first year of competing in the 13 & Under category proved to be a successful one for the pair receiving multiple Hi Point awards and once the APHA points are official, many ROMs as well. They are now anxiously awaiting the 2009 show season but a much deserved rest first.

WITH THE FINAL 2008 SHOW RESULTS COMPLETED CHEYENNE AND SONNY FINISHED THE YEAR AS THE APHC HI POINT 13 & UNDER, APHA RESERVE HI POINT 13 & UNDER FOR ZONE 10, APHC RESERVE HI POINT NOVICE YOUTH AND SPHC RESERVE HI POINT 13 & UNDER AS WELL AS SIX ROMs.  CHEYENNE WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THE SPONSORS FOR HER AMAZING AWARDS.  QUITE A YEAR CONSIDERING SHE JUST MOVED UP FROM WALK/TROT!

Sonny has now been retired and Cheyenne will miss showing him dearly the pair have quite a bond that goes far past the show ring. We owe Sonny so much for teaching Cheyenne how to ride and keeping her safe.  He is now enjoying summers in the pasture and winter nights in the warm barn.

Turbo was being started towards a reining career but with job/time constraints LeRoy can't pursue this with him for the present; in the meantime our son Cole has taken a shine to his speed and agility and asked if he could show him in the speed events, barrel racing and pole bending. Of course we said yes and with only one practise run before he went to his first show he won the youth class in both events on the second day and achieved his first APHA points. Both horse and rider had alot of fun and plan to attend all the APHC shows this season

Turbo and Cole had their share of bumps in the road in 2007 but I think both had fun trying their skills at pole bending and barrel racing. It was a learning experience for both and definitely added excitement to the end of a slow show day. They did have their successes and proved to be hard to beat and were awarded 2007 APHC Hi Point Barrel Racing horse and 2007 APHC Res. Hi Point Pole Bending.

Turbo is now expanding on his reining career under the guidance of Kim Smith.

Turbo and Kim had their first showing together at the 2008 Zone 10 Zoneorama in Red Deer winning their first buckle as the Senior Reining Champion with all six judges placing them first. We'd like to thank Kim Smith for all his hard work with Turbo it was a thrill for us to watch the two of them light up the arena.
