Rehab and Chiropractic Board

POST INJURY- Boarding available for post injury care. Wound management, rest and rehab. $600 per month (depending on treatment needed) Stabling, feed and exercise program included.

CHIROPRACTIC BOARD- If your horse needs several treatments, you are able to board the horse here for a week, month, whatever is needed. $600 per month includes all chiropractic treatments, monitoring, therapy, board etc. This works well for horses that come from a long distance and better for us as the animal can be monitored daily and treated accordingly and usually responds quicker.

Turbo - Rehab

Turbo came to us in August of 2004. He had surgery on his hoof and needed extra-special care and extreme cleanliness, which with the rainy summer his owner was unable to provide at the time. Lisa has decided to leave him here for the winter to be monitored and cared for. He is recovering on schedule to date and Lisa is a very dedicated owner that travels an hour to get here faithfully twice a week to visit which we feel is very important to the recovery as well.A happy horse heals faster. She also spoils us with treats!! Turbo should go home in the Spring sound. Mr. Personality we love him!

These are the greatest rewards for us.

MAY - 2005

Turbo has gone home and is completely sound. Lisa is riding him and says he is like a new horse.

Feb. 2007- Turbo is doing very well. Lisa is taking her Level I coach with him.

He also has new shoes to protect his front feet from cracks that developed as a result of the stress of the injury. These shoes recommended and applied by Dr. Sean Archibald from his new Canadian Farrier Specialties business are allowing Turbo to be ridden with excellent success.

RUBY'S VOICE EQUINE RESCUE,

Ruby's Voice Equine Rescue was started in 2007 in honor of my mother who lost her life in a tragic fire along with her two cats that she dearly loved(www.rubysvoice.com)

Those of us fortunate enough to love and be loved by animals know the exquisite joy and quiet fulfillment that comes from animals living in our hearts. Loving this much we know the searing pain of losing them and we know the overwhelming fatigue in rescue work but it is worth every second!

IF CIRCUMSTANCES IN YOUR LIFE ARISE AND YOU NEED TO GIVE UP OWNERSHIP OF YOUR HORSE(S) WE HAVE THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM AVAILABLE:

Sometimes  we are forced us to make decisions concerning animals that are very hard. Here at Ruby's Voice no one is judged or questioned. We welcome your horses for whatever reason and in whatever shape. Manageably disabled is not a problem.

We accept abused, unwanted, retired horses and special needs horses. These horses have dedicated their lives to giving enjoyment to their owners.

The horses are turned over to us and are evaluated as to their needs and health plan or if you want to keep ownership of your horse we have a retirement board option.

With our expertise in many fields these horses can be kept comfortable and used lightly in our facility for beginners or physically challenged people that just want to interact with them.

The horses have there own pasture to roam in during the summer months with lots of grass, trees and a small lake. They are fed special diets and monitored daily. Chiropractic, Farrier, Dentistry and Veterinary care is an important part of their routine here.

In the winter they are fed free choice hay, special diets, blanketing and heated barns if they require it.  They are placed with suitable buddies and are well cared for and loved.

The horses in our For Sale Section are strictly our own horses.

Sore horses are welcome to our program as well. We have rehab available and if the horse should become sound after a period of time the owner can buy back the horse at the cost of our care.

We want to make it quite clear horses turned over to us for retirement or special needs care are not ever sold for slaughter or to other people.  Our sole purpose is to give them a retirement home and make them as comfortable as possible.

If they can be incorporated in some of our ranch programs then that is good for the horse as well. If they can't then they just live out their lives in comfort.

We keep in touch with the owners if they so wish and if any major decision had to be made we would contact the owner if possible. Owners are very welcome to visit their horses as well but riding is not available as we are not a riding facility for the public.

We will be incorporating a program for Sponsoring and Fostering some of the horses to help with the cost of running the program and making sure we don't have to turn anyone away.

LIVE-LOVE-LAUGH

If you talk to the animals they will talk with you

and you will know each other

If you do not talk to them, you will not know them

and what you do not know you will fear

What one fears one destroys

                    CHIEF DAN GEORGE

In memory of two beautiful mothers and all the mothers whom we have loved and lost that loved animals for they had a significant part in the work we do today to save and heal animals by always alllowing us to have animals  as we were growing up.

Ruby Margaret Reum and Alice Martin

Today the sun shines down on a grave not far from here,

Where someone sleeps we could not save

And always loved so dear- If roses grow in heaven Lord

please pick a bunch for us -place a kiss upon her cheek and

tell her we miss her... so much.

Our best rewards are seeing the injured horses go home well and giving the rescued and retired horses the care they need and the home they deserve. StoneRaven Ranch is gracious retirement living for horses.

At present we have

Skip-21 years old, can't see or hear very well but otherwise healthy and wanders the pastures in the summer with his friends.

Red-Red is a wonderful Q. H. gelding. He came to us a year ago, very sore. He is improving daily and hopefully by summer will be able to be ridden lightly.

Doc-Given to the ranch by a caring couple a 14 year old Q.H. that is broke and by Spring hopefully will be sound enough for children to take some lessons on.

Zack- a previously injured racehorse that will go into training for dressage this winter.
Zack has been here two years.

Bug is a well trained dressage horse that has needs special care with her hooves and to date is progressing very well.

Thunder-  Severely foundered is slowly recovering. A wonderful show horse who paid his dues over and over again and came from a wonderful caring family who gave him a chance. With special boots and strict nutrition we have high hopes he will be sound again.

Gypsy came to live with us in Feb. 2009. She is an eleven year old Arabian Mare.
Through an accident she has lost her sight. She is a very kind loving horse and our little miniature horses and donkeys are taking care of her at present.

Lily and Willie(Chestnut) came all the way from the NWT. They are a pair of ponies that just need some TLC and farrier care and they will be on there way to stealing somebodys heart.

Beau and Dupa are both awesome horses that have fit into our program very well and we are looking forward to trail rides with them this summer

Colt,Ace,Silver,Sam,Star,Treasure are all newcomers to our program. Each has a special story and hopefully we can give them all the attention and comfort they deserve.

Thankyou to the owners who cared so much about their animals to take the time to find them a retirement home, rather than just giving up on them.

DONATIONS:
We have been asked if there is anything we could use to help with the care of the horses: I have added a list below of things that can always be of use:

Blankets- Summer Fly Sheets, Winter Turn out blankets
              Wormer products
              Grooming supplies, vet wrap
              Easy Boot Epic- any size
We are not a non-profit organization at present but are looking into becomng one and then we will put on some fundraisers.
