Thunderhorse Ranch Stallions - Standing for Service

A Canadian source for Hancock and foundation bred usin' Quarter horses.

Horses that have endured the test of time and were the backbone of early ranching and the development of the Quarter Horse. These horses were horses that legends were made of.

In the early years when horses had to work for a living and ranches depended on their service, a versatile horse, with strength, speed and a willingness to try was needed. A horse that could work all week long and still go to the dirt track or rodeo on the weekend, a horse that earned his keep under saddle and in the breeding pasture. A well muscled horse with a lot of bone, good hard feet , legs well set and deceptive speed, this is a usin' horse. Featuring usin' horses of colors Blue Roan, Bay Roan, Red Roan and Gray.

All stallions have a LFG. Mare care $7.50 per day dry and $10 per day wet.

KC was selected as a main herd sire because of his high percentage of Hancock Blood but more importantly because his lines consistently produce good quiet minded, tall and stout ranch horses with lots of muscle , bone and deceptive speed . This is a mount that you can work with and on all day long.
  • 28.5 % King County Joe
  • 23.44 % Joe Hancock
  • KC is a line bred Hancock (8X) King County Joe (5X)
  • Crocketts Lucky Joe, Buck Hancock and Idajo Hancock are all part of his pedigree, along with a dose of John Wilken and mares by Buggins and a bit of Three Bars
It is unusual to find such a concentration of old blood in such a young stud. Arguably some say King County Joe was the best son of Joe Hancock and unfortunately there is not a lot of his blood left today.

Shadow is a real mover and looker. He is a loose gaited, flat shod, ranch style walking horse. He has been a trail herd sire for us for many years and produces black with white, easy moving colts, that have good dispositions.
  • Shadow has an old style build, more body size, well set neck and short back.
  • This boy does not Rack!
