What You Can Do

If you care about your heritage and the plight of these remarkably beautiful, free roaming wild horses we can only urge you to:

  • Join our Wild Horses of Alberta Society and become part of the voice for the protection and preservation of the wild horses.

    • Funds generated will
        • go into lobbying the government for changes in legislation,
        • conducting a census to determine a count on numbers of horse more accurately
        • to conduct a study to determine through DNA a link of these horses to the Spanish Mustang.
  • Write to your MLA letting him/her know of your concerns for the plight of these horses.
  • Write to Ted Morton asking for changes to the current legislation and asking for our societies input into changing the legislation regarding the “wild” horses of Alberta. Also please "cc" your letters to Premier Ed Stelmack so that he is aware of the volume of letters received by the SRD.
