The 12th Annual "REAL" Ranch Horse Invitational Sale was held April 21, 2018 at the Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch in Billings, MT. A nice set of horses were presented to the crowd who were happy to see sunshine & green grass.

The 12 th Annual “REAL” Ranch Horse Invitational Sale was held April 21, 2018 at the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch in Billings, MT. A nice set of horses were presented to the crowd who were happy to see sunshine and green grass.

The top 5 Ranch horses averaged $11,250.
The top 10 averaged $10,500.
The top 20 averaged $9,600.
And all of them averaged $8,010.
High-selling Ranch horse, Lot 41, “Smooth Chocolate Cat”, 2010 AQHA Brown gelding consigned by Jess Kirkpatrick of Jackson, MT brought $16,750. Purchased by Jim Jordan of Big Timber, MT.
The second high-seller, Lot 51, “JP Boonzario”, 2011 AQHA Sorrel gelding consigned by JP Ranch of Edgemont, SD brought $16,000. Purchased by Sam McDowell of Bridger, MT.
Third high-seller, Lot 15, “Smoothies High Oak”, 2013 AQHA Sorrel gelding consigned by Ogren Quarter Horses of Hysham, MT brought $13,000. Purchased by Lynden Billy of Box Elder, MT.
Fourth high-seller, Lot 44, “TT Big Country Bert”, 2010 AQHA Bay Roan gelding consigned by Tyler Clawson of Wyola, MT brought $10,500. Purchased by Sharon Villareal of Castro Valley, CA.
Fifth high-selling, Lot 9, “Gunner”, 2013 Grade Red Roan gelding consigned by Don Selle of Baker, MT brought $10,400. Purchased by Joe Egan of Forsyth, MT.

Also selling were 14 Young Ranch horses. Just like their older brothers, but with a shorter resume.
The top 5 Young Ranch horses averaged $7160.
The top 10 averaged $5880.
And all of them averaged $5400.
High-selling Young horse, Lot 60, “Croaker”, 2013 Grade Blue Roan gelding consigned by Mike Lloyd of Cody, WY brought $8500. Purchased by Ann Hoff of Baker, MT.
Second high-selling Young horse, Lot 18, “LW Playguns Highbrow”, 2014 AQHA Bay gelding consigned by Borderview Ranch of Brockway, MT brought $7500. Purchased by Spence Ingalls of Medora, ND.

Also selling as a benefit to the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch were 6 unstarted 2 year olds that averaged $3560.
High-seller, Lot 68, “Otto Matic Gun”, 2016 AQHA Bay gelding consigned by Ashley Quarter Horses of Forsyth, MT brought $5200. Purchased by Fred Roedeske of Cartwright, ND.

The 13 th edition of the “REAL” Ranch Horse Invitational Sale is slated for April 20, 2019. The catalog is already full with another set of high quality ranch horses.
