Cody comes from a long line of proven producers.  He has many greats on his papers and he will continue to follow in those steps.  He has great bone, great feet, well defined whithers, a long sloping hip and impeccable confirmation.  Not to mention his looks get him noticed all the time.

Cody is tremendously athletic with beautiful movement.   He feels incredibly powerful when you get on him, but has a laid back attitude, in many ways you don't feel like you are riding a colt.  When you ask him to lope, you hardly feel like you are moving but you are floating across the arena.   He has a very low topline, and with very little effort he naturally carries his head close to the ground.  He moves around the arena with such ease and grace.  He has a powerful stride and huge stop already.  Cody has such a willing disposition it makes training and riding him a real pleasure.  

Due to time constraints Cody's training was delayed until the spring of 2010.  He has just spent an additional 30 days with Aaron Lagaden of Hat Creek Horse Company and she has made some incredible progress with his body control in such a short time. Aaron describes Cody as very smart and she feels he is close to getting his lead changes.  If Cody is not sold in the near future our intent is to get Cody out and exposed to some new experiences, he will be shown in some local Western Pleasure shows and possibly some reining classes

Cody is nominated to the Canadian Supreme Futurities.

History

Cody was purchased September 2, 2007 from the Montana Breeders Group Sale.  He was purchased as a replacement stud for Peps Smart Quixote.  He has some very specific qualities we were looking for; pedigree, size, confirmation, a soft keen eye, really good bone, athletic ability and disposition.  As an added bonus he has stunning color and a real "look at me" attitude.

Over the past couple of years we have watched Cody mature into a fine young stud prospect and anxiously waited for the opportunity to breed with him.  Unfortunately, when the breeding season arrived we found out Cody didn't have a high enough sperm count to have a good conception rate so after a lot of discussion we decided to geld Cody July of 2010.  This will allow us a better opportunity to maximize the athletic abilities of this young colt.
