Welcome to Bullock Quarter Horses

Bullock Quarter Horses is home to Shawn and Shannon Bullock and our children Matthew (18) and Lexie (14). We are striving to breed, raise, train and sell quality reigstered Quarter Horses with excellent dispositions and confirmation, loads of athletic ability and trainability that are versatile in all disciplines suited for everybody's needs and abilities.

We both come from a childhood filled with horses.  Shawn started riding at a young age and quickly Cutting became his passion.  Shawn competed in High School Rodeo- Cutting for 3 years.  As time went by his interests changed and he became involved in the discipline of Reining.  Shawn has been successful in many Non-Pro and Limited Non-Pro Reining classes.  Shawn has natural talent when it comes to starting young prospects; giving them an excellent foundation prior to being started in a specific direction.

I have always had a horse around to ride but have not ridden competitively until the summer of 2010. I have started showing a couple of our young horses in local Western Pleasure classes to provide diversity to the horses we own, I have really enjoyed this and plan on continuing in the future.  It looks like my traveling partner will be our daughter Lexie.  My primary focus with our horses is working with the weanlings and yearlings getting them ready for the next stage of training with Shawn and for future new homes.  I enjoy the horses for what they have to offer and just truly enjoy being around them.

Lexie has taken an interest in the horses.  She enjoys riding and seeing the new foals grow into great prospects.  She calls Willow N Whiz her own, she is so comfortable and trusting of her. This trust has really helped her increase her confidence and enjoyment.  She loves working with the young foals and is anxiously waiting for her 2019 foal to arrive.

Matthew has not taken much of an interest in horses.  He prefers to ride things with motors.  He is quite busy with work, friends and casual sports.

Shawn started raising his own Quarter Horse foals in the spring in 1995.  In 1996 Shawn and I had "our" first foal.  This was the start of everything.  We continued breeding a couple of mares to Shawns' dad's stud, Beaus Wrangler Leo.  In 2002 we purchased our own sire, Peps Smart Quixote.  We had a small band of mares that had both reining and cutting bloodlines that we used as broodmares and for riding.  In the fall of 2008 we sold Peps Smart Quixote to Bertina Olafson to make room for a new stud prospect, All Reddy Cody.  Unfortunately, things did not work as well as we had planned so "Cody" was gelded in the spring of 2010 and later sold.  September 19, 2010 we brought home our "up and coming" Cremello prospect, "Platinum".  In 2014 we learned Platinum was a Herda carrier and with a bad leg we decided to sell Platinum.

In addition to Platinum we added Kings Nu Jewel "Duke" to our Stud pen.  This young colt is packed with tons of bone, excellent muscle, good withers and loads of athletic ability.  Duke also has a quiet laid back disposition with an eagerness to learn and please.  As an additional benefit he has a loaded pedigree to back him in the reining and working cowhorse world.  Duke has since been gelded and sold.  We hear he is doing well in the roping pen.

2014 we welcomed Pretty Cool Steps "Sterling" to our breeding program.  He is a real charmer, a true gentleman who loves attention and affection.  He is a beautiful Grullo reining prospect that is a grandson of the great Wimpy's Little Step. Sterling has an amazing temperment with lots of bone and muscle. Sterling has already shown incredible trainability and desire to learn. He has a natural low top line. Sterling has big stop with a lot of heart.  Sterling's offspring have excellent temperments along with good size and bone.  Sterling is 5 panel N/N.  Color tested Ee aa Dd.

As we continue to improve our breeding program 2018 brought the welcome addition of SB Gunnablitzya, born May 13, 2018 barn name "Blitz".  We are retaining this colt as a future stallion prospect. He is a stunning colt with a beautiful head and neck.  Super athletic with a long hip and great bone.  He is 5 Panel N/N via parentage and color tested Ee Aa. This colt should be a performance superstar with his pedigree, disposition and abilities.

We believe that in order to produce valuable foals you need to not only have great Stallions but great Mares.  Over the years we have been striving to improve our broodmare band.  We are very excited to see what the cross between Platinum and our mares produce.  We feel we have mares with excellent dispositions, strong pedigrees, athletic ability, trainability, versatility and confirmation.

Thank you so much for visiting our website.   We hope that you enjoy what we have to offer and see something you like.  We are proud of the herd we have put together and will continue to work on improving our horses. Please feel free to contact us any time regarding any horses we have on the site, we would love to tell you more about them. Check back often as we will continue to update our site.  I look forward to hearing your comments.
