This handsome 8 year old gelding we call Pete is a really special horse. Soft and willing Pete was started as a three year old in the vaquero tradition. Ridden strictly in the hackamore (bosal) until 5 he was introduced to the spade bit and started in the two rein. Pete is still in the two rein stage but is mostly used with a light 3/8 bosal and 3/8 mane hair rein.

Pete has spent most of his life as a ranch horse, used at calving time to sort and pair off, in the branding pen, gathering and moving herds, and doctoring cattle on pasture.

Pete has also been used as a trail horse for hunting and mountain riding. He has been packed and rode over all kinds of country and crossed many rivers.

He is easy to catch and trailer, and will stand like an oak for the farrier.

Not prone to bolt or spook he is safe for riders of all skill levels and would make a great performance horse or trail riding horse for most anybody.
