I bought Lace in 2018 as a project. She has one of the easiest minds I’ve had the pleasure of working with. She thinks her way through things, and doesn’t spook unnecessarily. Lace has been used mainly for checking pasture. In the last two summers Lace has trailed cows, doctored calves, dragged a dozen calves at a branding this season, sorted pairs in open pasture and in corrals, tracked a roping dummy, begun box work on the heel side, been ridden in ditches, been around quads, trucks and other farm equipment, she’s good with dogs, can be ridden alone or in a group. She has no bad habits and has great manners. She is soft and responsive and works well off your seat and legs.

She has a good walk, trot and lope as well as sideways, forequarter, hindquarter, back up and stop. She is good to catch and ties well in the barn and at the trailer alone or with others. She’s good for the farrier, self loads in a trailer and stands nicely during travel. Lace can be ridden bareback with a halter. She’s good with water and muddy ground. Basically all the buttons are there and she’s been exposed to just about everything. She is a 4 year old but I’d say her mental maturity is more like a 6 or 7 year old.
