The 1994 bay stallion is a son of Holland Ease and out of the Chicks Beduino mare Corona Chick. Bred in California by Robert Etchandy, he was raced by Celina Molina and is owned by a syndicate.
A Grade 1-winning earner of $557,142 in his racing career, he has stood his entire stallion career at Lazy E Ranch at Guthrie, Oklahoma.
From 15 crops to race, Corona Cartel has sired the earners of more than $50.2 million. This places him second on the all-time sires list, behind only First Down Dash. These two are the only ones to break the $50 million mark in sire earnings in the sport’s history.
Corona Cartel’s runners include 70 percent winners from starters and 12 percent stakes winners during his entire career, as well as average earnings of $40,299 per starter. He is the sire of seven champions, lead by 2007 world champion Blues Girl Too, the sport’s all-time leading distaffer with earnings of $2,032,328.
