CW career as a sire was kind cut short because of his owners dispersing right in the prime of his life at the age of 10 in 1985. I was at the sale and remember how excited I was to see a World Champion, I ended up buying three mares, two in foal to him. He sired 152 foals, only 20 after 1985. A very respectable 1/3 of his foals were performers, many as youth and amateur horses. He put a very distinctive stamp on his foals.
