Here is a ram full of old lines with a family tree full of great old Sawyer and Zubot/Ivelcote animals. You cannot get this stuff anymore. This ram, scrapie genotype RR, a fall-born single, was going to show and sell in the 2020 All Canada Classic, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I am confident he would have done well in both the show and the sale. I have  sold a half-interest in this ram to someone not far away, and I will eventually bring him home and put him to use!

2020 has been a great year already! Except for a small group held back to select from for the Genetic Impact Sale, Canadian Arcott ewe lambs were sold out by May 20.

In 2019 and 2020 I kept a lot of replacements, all but a few  of them AI-sired. Therefore, in 2021, almost all of the Canadian Arcott ewe lambs will be for sale. There will be lambs born in September, December, and January-February. Classic ewes (if there is a Classic) will probably be selected from the September group, Genetic Impact ewe lambs likely from the September and December groups. Other than the odd keeper for pedigree reasons, everything else will be available. If you are looking to purchase registered Canadian Arcott ewe lambs next year, it would not hurt to get in touch now, the sooner the better. Pictures for attention, ewe lambs pictured have been sold! Inquiries are starting already!

A twin ram, A.I. sired by the British ram Huish Nugget out of an A.I. sired dam (Brucedale Mate's 217T). This guy is a litle smaller but coming along real well. I don't blame him as he is from a yearling ewe who lambed 1 week shy of her 1st birthday. The maternal side of the dam's pedigree goes back to a lot of British breeding blended with some old style Dorsets from Oregon and Washington. Scrapie genotype RR.   https://youtu.be/t-_P_RpOPxA

A real thick traditional style twin ram lamb. Scrapie genotype QR. He is A.I. sired by a British ram that goes back to quite a bit of New Zealand genetics. The dam's side of the pedigree traces back to more New Zealand genetics through the Rocky Lane, Zillig and Brien flocks. If you like the productive, well muscled Dorsets, here is a young ram to consider. Dam produced triplets Jan. 2019 and back with twins in Jan. 2020. https://youtu.be/CSl-ni6Fg1o

Canadian Arcott rams will once again be for sale in 2021. PLEASE NOTE- there will be NO YEARLINGS this year. Rams completely sold out in 2020. We will, however, be lambing out a group of ewes in May of 2021, and there are 23 Canadian Arcott ewes confirmed by ultrasound bred to Sheep Trax Fortune 188F.  Ultrasound indicates half of these ewes will have twins and one looks like possible triplets. So there will be a good May lamb crop! These lambs will be kept to yearling for sale in 2022, but that is not to say I won't part with any May lambs in November or December ;-)

There will be fall-born rams available, born in September of 2020. The next group will range from late December through late January. Some of these rams will be kept back for the 6th Annual Genetic Impact Sale, Aug. 7 at Stettler Auction Mart. The rest will be for sale. Don't hesitate to contact me about these guys, the earlier the better!

Peanut

Peanut

It is with great sadness and also with high hopes that I post this listing. Peanut has been retired from breeding and spayed. I do not want to part with her, and I do not as a rule rehome my retirees. However, Peanut is a special case.

Peanut has Inflammatory Bowel Disease, which is not a disease in itself, but rather a syndrome. Most IBD cats vomit, but some have diarrhea. Peanut suffers from diarrhea. It is not my intention to dump a problem on someone else, and I have no problem keeping her if the right person does not appear. But what she really needs is a home where she is the only cat, then she needs to be put on a special diet, probiotics, possibly also things like plain chicken, rice, and pumpkin. I currently have her on probiotics only, but it is impossible to put her on a digestive formula unless I confine her to one room (or all the cats will steal her food).

In a new home, she would need to be confined for a while, just in case of 'accidents'. Once she has been on a gastrointestinal food for a while, and probiotics, etc., her stool will hopefully firm up and she could have more freedom.

I am willing to provide the first bag of gastro food, and a package of probiotics, to get her started. To sweeten the deal, if after a reasonable amount of time, and perhaps trying a few different foods, the problem does not improve, I will take her back.

She may never be totally firm. She may always have 'pudding poop'. But pudding poop is better than liquid! If getting her into a new home where she can have special food and no competition for it will help her, I am willing to part with her.

Do you love a challenge? If you are willing to try, there is no charge for her, and remember after a reasonable time, if there is no improvement, you can bring her back!

Peanut is very social, loves a cuddle, will curl up and sleep with you, and loves her food. All food. You would have to be very vigilant not to give her any people food. (Of course you could offer her plain fat free yogurt, but alas, she won't eat it.) She will not tolerate being picked up and held, but that is not unusual for the breed. Also oral medications are just not possible. If you have a vet that wants to put her on meds, perhaps they will volunteer to get them in her, because you will try once and that will be the end of that! The solution here is going to be dietary.

Peanut is registered, and hails from Oregon. If her IBD clears up, she has many good years ahead of her.

Email lorri@coyoteacresranch.com if you would like to be the solution for Peanut. Please don't contact me if you just want a free Bengal. Trust me, you will have to be patient and you will have to try some stuff before she will firm up. If you can't deal with it, DO NOT waste my time.
